What to do if you come across a livestock guard dog while hiking in the mountains...
In response to the reappearance of predatory animals in the Alps, many shepherds and farmers use guard dogs to protect their livestock. These dogs live with the herds and have an instinctive urge to protect them from any exterior threat, including humans. Nicolas, a certified mountain leader. will teach you how to react when you come across a Patou (or Pyrenean Mountain Dog).
