Explore the rolling alpine prairies of Champoussin, enjoy delicious local specialities, learn about cheese making, and make a sweet treat with wild plants you harvest yourself!

Your visit to Champoussin will begin in the late afternoon (5:30 pm). After checking in at the Auberge Chez Gaby1670, you’ll tuck into a delicious cheese and mountain herbs fondue.

After a good night’s sleep in the cosy Auberge, you’ll start your day right with a copious Region Dents du Midi breakfast, complete with a mouthwatering piece of our famous ‘Salée de la Vallée’, a cinnamon sugar pie that, paradoxically, translates as salty. After breakfast, you’ll meet up with your guide for a hike to the La Chaux alpine pasture, where you’ll learn about – and pick – local herbs. Some of your pickings will be going right onto your plate for lunch!

In the afternoon, you’ll hike back to Champoussin, accompanied by your guide. There, at Gaby’s Farm, you can see the goats being milked and then enjoy a tasting of some of the farm’s products with a glass of wine.

When you’re done, you’ll return to the Auberge and finish off the day by learning to make goat milk yogurt with fresh herbs before sitting down to dinner.

The following day, you’ll head back to Gaby’s Farm for breakfast, followed by a cheese-making demonstration. The rest of the morning provides just enough free time to visit the farm’s small museum on alpine life in the old days. After a delicious lunch on site, you return to the Auberge for a cooking master class – nougat with goat cheese, the mountain herbs you picked the day before, and dried fruit.

We’ll wrap up the stay at the end of the afternoon, around 5:00 pm, and you can return home by public transportation or by car with memories to last a lifetime
