A self-taught painter living in Champéry, Patrice Quinche has been painting (almost) forever. He draws his inspiration from emotion, constantly creating around shape and colour, which are central to his work. A painter without a studio, he works mainly with gouache and pencils. Over time, the abstract has taken precedence over the figurative – the artist hopes that the viewer will experience the same joy in viewing the finished works as he had in creating them. He hopes you’ll take your time viewing his paintings – soaking up the colours and allowing yourself to be lulled by the sensations they create within.
