Montagnes, Paysages et Fantaisies
Born December 12, 1955, Marianne Monnier-Koenig has been drawing or painting for as long as she can remember. She taught herself oil painting first by copying the old masters. From there, she went to Chur, to study under the tutelage of Rudolf Stüssi, an internationally renowned painter from Graubünden. Today, Marianne Monnier-Koenig mainly uses dry pastels, a material that suits her style by allowing her to draw very precisely while leaving plenty of freedom for artistic expression. Attempting to capturing the vibrations of colour in a landscape and communicate their resonance in her work is a fascinating process. Her art provides essential nourishment for her soul.
