A lecture by Peter Wohlleben, author of the bestselling book "The Secret Life of Trees"!
The association Forêt Valais and Région Dents du Midi are delighted to welcome Peter Wohlleben, forest ranger and author of the best-selling book “The Hidden Life of Trees”, for a public lecture in which he will present his conception of the forest, which is more oriented towards preservation than exploitation. He will also talk about the complex relationships between trees, which communicate with each other, care for each other and feel emotions.
Peter Wohlleben was born in 1964 in Bonn, Germany. From an early age, he knew he wanted to devote himself to nature. He first worked in the forestry administration of Rhineland-Palatinate and then became forest ranger for the municipality of Hümmel, where he implemented his conception of forest management. In 2016, he founded the Wohllebens Waldakademie to pass on his knowledge and share the way he considers forests through various activities and trainings. Peter Wohlleben has also published several books, including “The Hidden Life of Trees: What They Feel, How They Communicate”, first published in 2015, or “The Heartbeat of Trees: Embracing Our Ancient Bond with Forests and Nature”, first published in 2019.
