Since 2001, the Forestry Service has overseen and managed nearly 2,700 acres of forested land throughout the Vallée d'Illiez.
The Forestry Service is responsible for:
• maintenance and conservation of local forests
• upkeep of forest roads
• firewood production and delivery
• forestry jobs for private landowners
• jobs for municipalities (riverbed maintenance, roadworks, defence against natural disasters)
• artisanal woodcrafts (tables, benches, fountains, fences,…)
