Get a glimpse into our region's fascinating history with a guided tour of this meticulously reconstructed water mill.
Classified as an historic monument, and particularly striking when lit up at night, this meticulously reconstructed mill clings higgledy piggledy to the craggy sides of the Tine River Gorge. The original buildings dated back to 1401 and once housed a grain mill, a linen fulling workshop, a press, a forge, a sawmill and a carpentry shop. As you stoop to pass through the doorway into the tiny miller’s cottage, you can almost hear the creaking of the mill-wheel and imagine yourself in the shoes of our hard-working ancestors.
