This is a lovely trail that traverses the upper part of Les Crosets and the hamlet of Crêté Borney.
The trail leaves from the chapel at the entrance to Les Crosets.
Follow the pink snowshoe signs number 5.
Walk uphill along the edge of the ski slope to the road, then head left through a residential area of chalets for about 300 meters. Turn right and go up a pretty path along the ski slopes. Take a moment to admire the Dents du Midi and the ski area as you walk towards a site called Vaillime. Continue slightly to the left in the direction of the restaurant “Relais Panoramique” where you can enjoy a speciality of röstis.
At the restaurant, you can either :
-shorten your hike and go down below the restaurant on a groomed trail to join the Crêté-Borney road and the resort (see map under multimedia)
-continue straight on after the restaurant and go up slightly through the forest towards Champoussin on a groomed path to the “Pas de Croisette”. (see our main map of the route)
At the “Pas de Croisette” :
Your route nr 5 branches off to the right onto the groomed path and descends to the road to reach Les Crosets.
Diversions via the summit of the Croix de l’Aiguille: (see map under multimedia)
But if you still have energy, you can join a part of the itinerary nr 6 to make a small additional loop up to the Croix de l’Aiguille (follow the ridge then go down under the cross to come back by the groomed path to the Pas de Croisette.
