This is a long, magnificently scenic trail that traverses several forests and follows a ridgeline, offering incredible views of the Dents du Midi, Champoussin and the Rhone Valley.
The trail leaves from the Frâchette covered picnic area on the road to Champoussin.
Follow the pink snowshoe signs number 6.
Take the wide path towards the “Croix de l’Aiguille” as far as the “Gouille aux Sangliers” crossroads. Leave the track and take the path that goes down to the left through the forest to the “Pétis”. Go up again above the water reservoir, along the “Forêt des Plagnois” to join the wide “Chemin de l’Aiguille” again.
Take the groomed path on the left towards “Crêté Borney”.
At the crossroads, you can choose between 2 routes:
-go straight on to the Relais Panoramique restaurant to taste a speciality of röstis. On the right of the restaurant, the track leads you to the “Pas de Croisette” (see our map)
-Or go directly up to the right to “Pas de Croisette”.
At the “Pas de Croisette”, take the path on the right which climbs slightly over the ridge (no danger) to reach the viewpoint of the summit “Croix de l’Aiguille”. Go back down the path on the right of the cross through the forest to reach the paraglider take-off point.
Follow left towards the avalanche barriers to go down following the ridge* on a slightly technical path (reserved for people used to hiking) to reach your starting point at Frâchette.
*If you don’t want to continue on the ridge, you can go back down the groomed way following the itinerary nr 15 which also brings you back to your starting point at Frâchette via the easy “Chemin de l’Aiguille”.
