COVID-19 : CURRENT SITUATION

As a result of the measures taken by the Federal Council and the Valais Council of State, various measures and restrictions are currently in force. As the situation is constantly changing, you will find below the updated guidelines, which are also available on the official page of the Canton.

Public spaces / displacements

  • Gatherings are limited to 50 people in the public space outside and 30 people for private gatherings inside.
  • From the age of 12, it is compulsory to wear a face mask in lively areas where pedestrians circulate, and as soon as the concentration of people present does not allow the required distance (1.5m) to be respected.

Events / activities

Sporting and cultural events: 
  • Facemask compulsory indoors from 12 years of age. Outdoors, the facemask is not compulsory if participants and organisers keep their distances (1,5m);
  • Registration compulsory via our online ticket shop (traceability);
  • Limited to 50 people maximum for all events, except events dedicated to children or teenagers (up to 20 years old);
  • Rules regarding hygiene and social distancing must be followed at all times;

Events with a spectators (audience):
  • Limited to 100 people maximum indoors and 300 people maximum outdoors;
  • Limited to half venue capacity;
  • Visitors must remain seated;
  • For outdoor sports and cultural events with children and young people born in 2001 or later, the seating requirement does not apply to visitors;
  • Contact information for all visitors must be collected when the organizer allows food and beverages to be consumed at seats in the public access area. 
  • If the event is held in a food service establishment, only the standard requirements for that type of establishment apply (see below).

Public Transport

  • From the age of 12, wearing a face mask is compulsory.
  • Daily disinfection of contact areas is carried out.

Ski lifts companies

  • The ski lifts in the Champéry - Les Crosets - Morgins - Champoussin area are open during the summer season until November 1stmore informations

Leisure facilities

  • Publicly accessible leisure, entertainment and sports indoor facilities may open, with compulsory facemasks and social distancing, except for:
    • Facilities used for activities in the fields of education, sport and culture as well as for socio-cultural activities for children and youth, where the wearing of masks and sanitary safety distances are not mandatory.
    • The activities of thermal baths and wellness establishments where it is not possible to wear a mask, may open in compliance with the following provisions:
      • The capacity limits must be respected,
      • The protection plan must ensure that the required distance is maintained by specific measures.
    • Interior areas, such as entrances, sanitary facilities and locker rooms, of facilities and establishments closed to the public may remain open when necessary for the use of outdoor spaces.

Shops / services

  • From the age of 12, the wearing of a fascial mask is compulsory inside these establishments.
  • Provision of hydroalcoholic gel and daily disinfection of contact areas.
  • Limitation of the number of people inside in order to respect the required distances.

Pubs / restaurants / night clubs

  • The operation of night clubs, discotheques and dance halls is prohibited.
  • Restaurants, bars and nightclubs where consumption takes place on the premises are subject to the following rules:
    • The required distance between groups must be maintained or effective partitions must be installed;
    • Customers are required to be seated; in particular, they may only consume food and drink while seated;
  • Each table can accommodate a maximum of 4 people indoors and a maximum of 6 people outdoors; families with children are an exception;
  • The operator is obliged to collect the contact informations of all customers; the exception is children accompanied by their parents. In Valais, you can use the SocialPass application available on Android or iOS.

Lodging

  • Our Hotels remain open. For booking cancellations, individual cancellation conditions apply.  Please contact your service provider directly.
  • From the age of 12, wearing a mask is compulsory in common areas and enclosed spaces.
  • Hydroalcoholic gel is available to customers and daily disinfection of contact areas is carried out.

  • To protect yourself as well as possible against the spread of the virus, you will find the recommended hygiene protocols on the FOPH website.



We encourage everyone to endure the coming weeks with patience and fortitude. So far nobody has all the answers to this unprecedented situation, but we will do our utmost to keep you informed as the situation develops.
