Built in 1906 in the tranquil Barme valley, the Cantine des Dents Blanches was originally an alpine farm. Today it is a lovely mountain restaurant, popular with hikers and nature lovers.
Visitor NotificationFrom approximately 31st August to 20th November 2026, the access road to Grand-Paradis will be closed to all traffic due to turbining works. During this period, the Cantine will remain accessible:
from Champéry: via the Route de Planachaux, then the Bretelle des Creuses
from Monthey/Choëx, Troistorrents or Val-d'Illiez: via the Route des Rives
Vehicles over 18 tonnes must use the Route des Rives from Monthey/Choëx.
The first time you discover Barme it’s easy to think you’ve passed through the Pearly Gates. Starting from Grand Paradis, this bucolic alpine valley can be reached on foot or by car. By car, the narrow road winds several kilometres through dense forests until the valley suddenly appears, like a scene from Heidi.
Nestled near a bubbling stream and backed by the impressive Barme climbing rock, the Cantine des Dents Blanches is a favourite stop for epicureans, families and hikers on the Tour des Dents Blanches.
Fondue, cheese on toast, homemade desserts are served in the cosy dining room or on the spacious sunny terrace. We also offer a fine selection of regional wines.

- 1 dormitory with 15 beds: Bouquetins
Toilet and sink on the same level (cold water), hot shower on the ground floor (available on request, no extra charge).
Access by car and on foot
A mountain road leads you from Grand Paradis to the Barme plateau (around 20 minutes by car).
For hikers, several marked trails allow you to reach us on foot (approximately 1h30 from Champéry).
