An impressive site for specialists, with long technical overhangs on limestone. Accessible only in summer, it offers a demanding playground for the most experienced climbers.
Visitor NotificationFrom approximately 31st August to 20th November 2026, the access road to Grand-Paradis will be closed to all traffic due to turbining works. During this period, the site will remain accessible:
from Champéry: via the Route de Planachaux, then the Bretelle des Creuses
from Monthey/Choëx, Troistorrents or Val-d'Illiez: via the Route des Rives
A demanding site for experts
Located at 1300 m, the Champ de Barme dry tooling sector is known for its huge overhangs and technical lines.
It is strictly reserved for experienced climbers and can only be used in summer due to avalanche risks in winter.
Access is a 40-minute hike from Grand-Paradis.
Routes and equipment
The site features 20 routes from 15 to 100 m, requiring advanced skills and experience.
The limestone is equipped with 10 mm stainless steel bolts, but ice screws are often necessary, along with double ropes (2×50 m) for the longer climbs.
