Ripaille – Grand-Paradis ski slope

Champéry · Les Crosets

The longest piste in the Portes du Soleil, Ripaille - Grand Paradis is a spectacular run that spans an endless variety of landscapes. Wide, groomed slopes at the start give way to rolling bumps and a thigh-burning schuss in the middle before levelling out onto a wonderland path through silent, snow-covered forests.

The Ripaille – Grand Paradis piste is a spectacular, 10 kilometre-long red ski run that spans an endless variety of landscapes.

Wide, groomed slopes at the start give way to a delightful section with rolling bumps and a thigh-burning schuss in the middle before levelling out onto a wonderland path through silent, snow-covered forests with glimpses of soaring, sugar coated alpine peaks in the distance. Not far from the start, at 1820m altitude, two alpine huts offer cosy refuge from the elements outside. Past the huts, a few sharp curves provide a challenging passage before the slope evens out into a long, steady descent along a winding path through pastures and woodlands. This section is perfect for practicing your ‘skiers tuck’! The slope arrives at the chairlift in Grand-Paradis (1055m).

Good to know :
– This slope is best appreciated in the morning when it is perfectly groomed and less-frequented; you might even have the entire run to yourself!
– As early as February, you may be lucky enough to see flocks of sheep along the way
– Depending on snow conditions, some pushing may be required.
– At the arrival point, the high-speed Grand Paradis chairlift will whisk you back into the ski area in just a few minutes. You won’t even need to take off your skis!
– A free shuttle-bus connecting Champéry and Grand Paradis runs every 15 minutes
