This hike begins at the top of the Morgins gondola. Following the panoramic ridge, you reach Pertuis Chétrain and descend through the Bonavau forest into the They valley
Télécabine de Morgins (top of the gondola) – La Foilleuse – Pertuis Chétrain – Bonavau – They – Morgins
Relax in the Morgins gondola as it takes you to the top of La Foilleuse at an altitude of 1,815 meters. Don’t miss the chance to snap a photo at the Grand Tour of Switzerland spot, with the stunning Dents du Midi in the background.
Your hike begins here:
As you exit the gondola, turn right and walk alongside the terrace of La Foilleuse Restaurant. Walk up the ridge to the small summit at 1,901 meters and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views of the Dents du Midi and the Vaud Alps as you gently descend along the grassy trail.
At the Pertuis Chétrain junction, follow the signs for Bonavau/They, heading right down a wide path toward the Bonavau alpine pasture. At the second farmhouse, take the trail on the right (marked by a large stone) that leads down into the forest. You’ll cross three forest roads; the trail becomes slightly steeper towards the end before reaching the They Valley.
Take a well-deserved break at the Vieux They agritourism restaurant (closed on Mondays), then return to Morgins via the picturesque Sentier des Ponts (bridges’ trail).
