Red Bull Downtime

Champéry

This summer, Red Bull, Région Dents du Midi and the Champéry Bikepark – Portes du Soleil are throwing down the challenge! Time yourself on the legendary World Cup track and try to earn your spot at Red Bull Hardline 2026 in Wales!

Red Bull Downtime is a downhill mountain bike challenge running all summer on three iconic Swiss trails: Champéry, Verbier and Lenzerheide. These tracks are well known among riders for their steep terrain, technical features and unique character.

Here’s how it works: each location has a timed segment, updated on an online leaderboard. At the end of the season, the fastest man and woman on each track will win an exclusive invitation to attend the Red Bull Hardline 2026 in Wales – the world’s most extreme downhill event. Usually reserved for pros, this time it’s open to the fastest amateurs.

No race numbers, no official start gate – just you against the clock, whenever you’re ready. Do one run or twenty – your best time counts. It’s more about personal challenge than race day pressure, but make no mistake, the tracks are serious.

You can ride at one or more locations:

  • Champéry: World Cup track, open from 8 June 2025 (BBQ opening day) until the end of the season
  • Verbier: Tire’s Fire trail, available from 29 June 2025
  • Lenzerheide: STRAIGHTline, timed every Friday morning from 11 July to 12 September between 9:00 and 11:00

Champéry
This iconic World Cup track is considered one of the steepest ever built. It’s the same trail where Danny Hart made history in 2011 with an unforgettable mud-soaked run, immortalised by the legendary “Look at the tiiime!” commentary.

This summer, Red Bull Downtime takes place right here. The segment will be live from 8 June 2025, starting with a casual BBQ event, and remain active until the bikepark closes. Riders can come back as often as they want to improve their time.

The segment starts midway at the Grand-Paradis chairlift, just after the World Cup trail warm-up section.
