France Schmid reimagines the Dents du Midi and Lake Geneva through collages, pastels, and layered prints on aluminum, offering a play of reflections and vibrations that blends the mountains’ power with poetic delicacy.
Fascinated by the ever-changing perception of mountains, with a particular attraction for the Dents du Midi, France Schmid seeks to offer a new representation of these giants of stone.
The superimpositions of her paintings printed on aluminum evoke intoxication through the vibrations of these changing reflections. A delicate analogy is woven between the frontal views of the rock faces and the vertical stone walls of Lavaux, explored here through collages and pastels. A few evanescent watercolors of Lake Geneva complete this exhibition, adding a touch of lightness and poetry.
