Take the Morgins gondola up to the summit of La Foilleuse, enjoy the magnificent view of the Dents du Midi, then descend with snowshoes via Savolaire back to Morgins.
When exiting the gondola, turn left, walk alongside the gondola building and pass to the left of the beginners’ magic carpet arrival area and to the left of the Luge Park, where you will find the first pink snowshoe sign. Follow the sign toward the restaurant Gite d’alpage La Chaux (the track is visible as the owner regularly drives over it with a snow quad), descending to the right along a wide path while enjoying the view of the Dents du Midi and the Vaud Alps. Pass the first farm and follow the road downhill to the farm at the hairpin bend. Leave the La Chaux trail markers here (which branch off to the right — unless, of course, you would like to stop for a gourmet break) and take a small flat path to the left, before descending through the forest on a left-hand bend. Reach a flat road, which you follow to the right for about 500 m to reach the Madzé crossroads.
Do not take the steep trail down to Morgins; instead, follow the signs for Savolaire. The snowshoe trail briefly follows the wide path, but after the fence, head uphill to the right toward Savolaire (you may also follow the summer trail directly — yellow Savolaire sign — the paths rejoin). Pass by the Buvette de Savolaire (closed in winter). From there, simply head straight down across the fields following the sign to Morgins while enjoying the view. From Champarin to Morgins, follow the wide path back down to your starting point.
Turn-by-turn direction
In Morgins, snowshoe trails are not numbered in the field (the number is only used on the map). Our signposting corresponds to the official pink signs used in Switzerland, with a signpost (destination) at major junctions and small pink signs (without destination) along the route.Best time of year
