This graceful alpine footbridge is 55 metres long and hangs 25 metres above the Sauflaz River Gorge.
Visitor NotificationFrom approximately 31st August to 20th November 2026, the access road to Grand-Paradis will be closed to all traffic due to turbining works. During this period, hikers wishing to reach the Belle-Étoile footbridge / Bonavau are invited to choose one of the following two parking options:
at the Champéry cable car car park, then continue on foot to the Grand-Paradis area via the Chemin des Poussettes
at the Grand-Paradis chairlift car park, accessible via the Route des Rives from Monthey/Choëx, Troistorrents or Val-d'Illiez.
Situated at an altitude of 1,458 metres, the bridge facilitates a treacherous passage between the Rossétan and Bonaveau alpine pastures on the Dents du Midi trail. Five educational panels explore glacial retreat, local geology, hydrology, hydroelectricity and groundwater in the region.
