Improving access on the trails

The network of hiking paths that crisscross the Illiez Valley are one of the jewels in our crown, for tourists and locals alike. These trails warrant special attention to enhance their value and raise awareness about our magnificent, but fragile environment.

With this goal in mind, we built the Belle-Etoile suspended footbridge to replace the old bridge that provided passage over the Sauflaz River, but which had to be removed and reinstalled every fall and spring. This new structure improves accessibility and safety for hikers traversing between Rossétan and Bonaveau, along one of the Tour des Dents du Midi’s most splendid trails.
