Champéry Bell Tower

Champéry

Classified a historical monument in 1964, our iconic bell tower culminates in a unique, arched stone structure that is adorned with a lantern. Legend has it that the construction was inspired by the shape of a ducal crown.

When the bell tower was built, 4 bells were installed.
Each bell bears the name of the person who financed it and the date of installation.

In 1842, a 5th bell was added. In 1996, three additional bells for the carillon were added to the five old ones, as they could not be rung “on the fly”.

On Swiss National Day, the bell tower is decorated with beautiful ornaments to make it even more authentic.
