It’s now been 10 years since Jean-Philippe signed up for his very first trail race. From that day on, he has never taken off his running shoes. He has gone on to conquer summits, races, records and victories. At 43, he has no intention of hanging up his shoes, and his results demonstrate remarkable consistency at the highest level.

Jean-Philippe lives in a chalet in the middle of a mountain clearing. The moment he opens his door, his playground begins. From La Tour d’Aï, past Les Agittes and up to Mont d’Or, this is his favorite trail.

In a single year, Jean-Philippe covers 5,000 kilometers, accumulates a total of 480,000 meters of elevation gain and trains for more than 1,000 hours. Since 2016, he has stepped onto the podium 40 times.

With an impressive track record and numerous international races under his belt, Jean-Philippe holds an ITRA index of 906 and a UTMB index of 900. In 2026, his goal is to complete two ultra races before taking on the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc in September, the world grand finale in Chamonix.

Jonas’s motto:
« I don’t run to be happy, I am happy because I run. »
