Music lovers of all ages gather for a brass concert, raffle, and dancing at one of the year's most popular events.
This brass band concert is divided by an intermission into two distinct parts. The first part is entirely devoted to music. The pieces presented are often ambitious and technical, requiring more concentration. The one, large piece will often be seconded by overtures, concert marches, and solo pieces for variety of emotion.
After the interval comes the second part of the programme, in which atmosphere takes over from virtuosity. These pieces are sometimes festive, sometimes melancholy. This second part of the concert is usually guided by a theme throughout.
At the end of the concert, the festivities continue with more music and dancing!
