Dorian Saillen is a young athlete from Val-d’Illiez, currently completing an apprenticeship in automobile maintenance at Garage 1890 in St-Maurice. In October 2017, Dorian started sport shooting with a 10m air rifle lent him by the Val-d’Illiez shooting society and trainer Fernand Es-Borrat.
In May 2019, he joined the NJC shooting society in St-Maurice, training with Christophe Vogel and adding a small calibre 50m rifle to his repertoire. In August 2020, he joined Marc Guntert’s 10 and 50 metre rifle Valais team, shooting in 3 positions – knee, prone, and standing.
His goal is to continue progressing, working hard to juggle training and apprenticeship. This means that he has 3 years to obtain his CFC (Federal Certificate of Capacity) and become Swiss Champion while heās at it, competing for the FĆ©dĆ©ration Suisse de Tir (Swiss Shooting) at the Lausanne Regional Performance Centre with coaches Vincent Pillonel and Marcel Zurcher.
