Dorian Saillen is a young athlete from Val-d’Illiez, currently completing an apprenticeship in automobile maintenance at Garage 1890 in St-Maurice. In October 2017, Dorian started sport shooting with a 10m air rifle lent him by the Val-d’Illiez shooting society and trainer Fernand Es-Borrat.

In May 2019, he joined the NJC shooting society in St-Maurice, training with Christophe Vogel and adding a small calibre 50m rifle to his repertoire. In August 2020, he joined Marc Guntert’s 10 and 50 metre rifle Valais team, shooting in 3 positions – knee, prone, and standing.

His goal is to continue progressing, working hard to juggle training and apprenticeship. This means that he has 3 years to obtain his CFC (Federal Certificate of Capacity) and become Swiss Champion while he’s at it, competing for the Fédération Suisse de Tir (Swiss Shooting) at the Lausanne Regional Performance Centre with coaches Vincent Pillonel and Marcel Zurcher.
