The Vallée d'Illiez parishes and the Fondation du Patrimoine Val-d'Illiez invite you to a pilgrimage around the valley's oratories, followed by a picnic.
Oratories are small monuments found along our roads and paths. Erected in fulfillment of a vow, to give thanks for a grace bestowed, or more simply to honor the saint to whom they are dedicated, their location or setting is no accident, prominently placed at a crossroads, a pass, a perilous passage, or signposting a path. Oratories invite us to meditate and pray as we pause on the path of faith. They are part of the landscape of our countries and our religious and artistic heritage.
