Experience this traditional event in the heart of the magnificent Vallon de They!

The queens of the Hérens breed return to their summer retreat. Starting in the morning, you’ll have the opportunity to admire some top-notch fighting between these impressive cows. Throughout the day, the public will also be able to soak up this very special atmosphere with folk music and typical local dishes.

L’inalpe
> Also known as poya in local dialect, the inalpe is the transhumance of cattle and shepherds as they make their way up to the mountain pastures at the beginning of the season. Usually taking place between the end of May and the beginning of June, the date is set according to the snowmelt and grass cover on the high-altitude pastures. The Valais inalpe is famous for its traditional queen fights, which help to organize the herd’s internal hierarchy.
