“Les amours du poète”
Les Rencontres Musicales de Champéry are honored to welcome tenor Ian Bostridge, considered one of the greatest Lied interpreters of our time, alongside pianist Saskia Giorgini, for an evening dedicated to Robert Schumann.

At the heart of the program is Les Amours du poète (Dichterliebe), a cycle composed in 1840 to poems by Heinrich Heine. An emblematic work of German Romanticism, it explores the surges and wounds of love in a dialogue of rare intensity between voice and piano.

An exceptional performer on the world’s greatest stages, Ian Bostridge stands out for the intellectual depth and expressive precision of his art. At his side, Saskia Giorgini makes the piano a fully committed partner in the musical narrative. In the elegant setting of the church, this evening promises a moment of remarkable intensity and artistic rigor.
