Morgins – Col Portes de Culet – Pointe de Bellevue – Chanso – Ferrage – Morgins

The Pointe de Bellevue is one of the most beautiful point of view of the area. Standing guard over Morgins, this rocky summit offers neverending views over the Jura, the Chablais Alps, Lake Geneva and even all the way to the icy bulk of Mont Blanc.

From the centre of the village reach the Portes du Culet pass at 1787 metres. Despite it being a steep climb, it is a pleasant walk up on a small road through mountain pastures and with lovely views of the region and the Alpes.
To come down gently, opt for the circuit via the Chanso or Ferrage alpine restaurants to enjoy a gourmet break.

From the church of Morgins, go behind the Hotel Chez Jan and take the Route de Sépaz which climbs to the right of the bakery Au Beau Réveil. After 20 minutes, above the telephone antenna, there is a crossroads to choose the direction of the loop.

Continue to climb along the road and then through the pastures, past the Culet ski lifts and up to the Col Portes de Culet where the view is already impressive. From the pass, take the small steep path that climbs along the ridge to the Pointe de Bellevue. The panoramic orientation table shows you the numerous summits visible at 360°: Mont Blanc, Cornettes de Bise, Grand Combin, Grand Muveran, Diablerets massif, not forgetting of course our Dents du Midi and our Dents Blanches.

Go back down the opposite path which takes you to the two alpine chalets where you can taste local specialities: the Chalet Chanso and the Ferrage which have an exceptional view from their terrace.

Return to Morgins along the hilly Troncs path which joins the antenna and the Route de Sépaz (2/3 of the way along this section, it is also possible to return to Morgins along the Chemin des Buttes, which avoids returning to the Route de Sépaz, but there are no markings).
