"La Jaune" used to be a groomed run, which makes it very easy to access as well as being lit up at night. This initiation run will teach you the basics of this sport through educational signs set up along the way.
Once you’ve left the Place du 6 Août car park in Morgins, you will follow a flat path along the Vièze river before zigzagging up a steeper section. The trail then becomes narrow as it takes you deep into the forest before taking you up the last section ending at the top of the Crêtes ridge. There, you can admire the majestic Dents du Midi before heading down the Foilleuse run.
NEW IN 2020:
Educational signs will be set up along the trail to teach you different ski mountaineering techniques (kick-turns, putting on and taking off skins, avalanche rescue techniques, taking care of your equipment) through images and links to explanatory videos.
The trail is marked with yellow diamond signs (blue dot) to the top of the Foilleuse.
At the start of each trail, a sign indicates whether it is open or not. The trails are marked but not patrolled. We therefore advise that you wear avalanche safety equipment (avalanche transceiver, probe, shovel and emergency blanket). Région Dents du Midi and Movement Skis accept no responsibility in case of an accident. Please follow the safety instructions. People heading up closed trails are held responsible for their own actions.
Best time of year
Please be aware that skiing down outside operating hours may involve risks and hazards such as avalanche triggering or grooming machines equipped with a winch.
Start from the Parking du 6 Août, the car park next to the tourist office in the centre of Morgins village.
