This intergenerational, people-friendly gathering place is designed to bring relaxation, conviviality, and community back to the heart of Morgins.
Covering some 1,000 square metres, this temporary installation is a testimony to the municipality’s determination to breathe new life into Morgins’ village centre. It is the first step in the Morgins Demain urban planning project, a development strategy intended to change the face of the resort over the coming decades.
In summer, the square is haven of rest and relaxation for the whole family – with parasols and deck chairs, limpid blue pools in a stylised clearing, and childrens’ games. It is also a welcoming rest stop for hikers and bikers, with a free E-Bike charging station and a bar offering refreshments.
In winter, it becomes a magical forest of frosty fir trees, fairy lights and icy igloos. Fiery braziers keep your fingers and toes toasty warm while you sip steaming mugs of chocolate or mulled wine.
Morgins’ ephemeral, temporary village square is about collectively imagining and building a legacy for future generations, starting with a more pleasant and harmonious living environment for residents and guests alike.
Opening hours
This winter (2023-2024), the refreshment bar is open every day from 3pm to 6pm during school holidays and on Saturdays and Sundays from 3pm to 6pm outside school holidays.
