A day in the 18th century

Troistorrents

Led by a basket weaver, a stonemason, an herbalist, a turner, a wood craftsman and a spinner

The heritage comes to life at Vieux Moulins de la Tine! Dive into the heart of the gestures of yesteryear with unique demonstrations every weekend in July and August from Sunday, July 13. These animations offer you a rare opportunity to see, feel and hear the trades that made the heart of our valleys beat. A living, authentic and accessible moment for all – young and old, curious and passionate.

Saturday, August 16 program:
– The basker weaver will demonstrate live how to weave various objects from wicker, keeping alive a craft that is both humble and refined.
– The stonemason will perform a rare demonstration: the size of the millstone of the foulon, a centerpiece of the mill hand-shaped, before your eyes.
– The herbalist will introduce you to the virtues of local plants and their traditional uses, through a hands-on and sensory approach.
– The turner will be restoring the saw-sharpening press, one of the many tools in the mill awaiting repair.
– The wood craftsman will share his know-how by restoring, before your eyes, old objects donated to the Mills during the reconstruction.
– The spinner will explain how wool becomes yarn: fiber preparation, the use of the spinning wheel, and spinning techniques… a manual craft that requires precision and patience.
