Just 1 ½ hours from Geneva and 2 ½ hours from Zurich, the Portes du Soleil is a vast playground encompassing 12 resort villages in France and Switzerland. Stretching as far as the eye can see, from the icy bulk of the Mont Blanc in France to the rugged Dents du Midi in Switzerland, the entire Portes du Soleil is accessible with a single pass. In a land with no boundaries, the possibilities are infinite!
Abondance, Avoriaz, Châtel, La Chapelle d'Abondance, Les Gets, Montriond, Morzine-Avoriaz, St Jean d'Aulps.
Champéry, Val-d’Illiez – Les Crosets – Champoussin, Morgins, Torgon.
The Portes du Soleil offers endless hours of wintertime fun on your doorstep. From gentle beginner slopes and endless, perfectly groomed avenues to steep bumpy runs, powder-filled gullies and immaculately shaped snow parks, we’ve got something for everyone!
With hundreds of kilometers of bike trails, from downhill runs to enduro and cross-country trails, the Portes du Soleil ski area is open to all bikers! If burning legs and steep climbs are not your cup of tea, try renting an electric mountain bike. Convenient recharging stations dotted throughout the area mean that can ride to your heart’s content without having to worry about running out of steam!
Before the last winter snows have melted, hikers take over the mountainsides. There are almost limitless excursions to choose from, whether you stay closer to home or hitch a ride up into the peaks on one of the many chairlifts that stay open in summer. Take the time to smell the flowers, enjoy the panoramic views, dabble your toes in a frigid alpine lake and treat yourself to a delectable treat at a quaint mountain refuge…
Before you set off, don’t forget your Multi Pass! This is your golden ticket to free passage on all the lifts and a mountain of activities in the Portes du Soleil as well! It is free with your accommodations in the Val d'Illiez or may be purchased for CHF 11.- per day / CHF 85.- per season.
