Dutifully on track alongside other aspiring alpine skiers within the rigorous Ski Valais system, at age 15 Tobias began to realise that his talent for endurance outweighed his need for speed. This marked a turning point for the young athlete, who decided to embark on the challenging path of ski mountaineering, with a little ‘light’ trail running in the summertime to help stay in shape during the off-season. Over the past 5 years, this promising young athlete has rapidly climbed the ranks in his quest for success.
Poised on the threshold of the U23 category for the 2021-2022 season, Tobias hopes to participate in a maximum of races to gain experience in elite competition. In the long term, his goals include nothing less than winning medals in a World Championship race and in the iconic Patrouille des Glaciers and Pierra Menta races. And, why not, to qualify for the 2026 Olympics…
